What is needlefelt?
Needle felting is a technique that involves repeatedly stabbing the wool with a special needle until the fibres become tangled and hold a solid shape. It's like magicโyou stab the wool countless times until it firms up and takes shape. This process is time-consuming, and you may end up stabbing yourself quite often. I frequently stab myself; while leather finger guards can help, they reduce my ability to feel the wool's texture, so I don't use them often. Don't follow my example!
Therefore, due to the nature of the felting, please be aware that this item is not a toy, it is intended for decorative purposes only and should be kept away from children. -
Caring tips
They are crafted from tangled wool, making them somewhat delicate. Therefore, they are intended only as decorative pieces, not toys.
If they start to catch dust, gently brush it away with a soft brush. Be careful not to rub too hard, as surface wool may come off. Felt creatures are a bit introverted; it's okay to take them outside occasionally, but avoid getting them dirty. They hate bathing! Water is their biggest enemy. If they get wet, let them air dry and avoid squishing or touching them to maintain their original shape.
If the creature has a wire skeleton, they can strike different poses, but donโt bend them too far! And remember, no harsh pulling on the woolโthey might fall apart. Sometimes, a character might have resin eyes; keep them out of too much sunlight, or they might get a bit of a tan!

Can I commission a felted piece if I live in the EU?
Yes, Iโm happy to ship to the EU!
Hereโs what to expect depending on where you place your order:
1. If you order directly from this website :
I currently donโt collect VAT at checkout.
For EU customers, your local customs office may charge:
-
VAT (typically 20โ25%)
-
A customs handling fee
This especially applies to orders over โฌ150, like Turbo Granny โ they fall outside the EUโs simplified VAT system (IOSS), and VAT is very likely to be charged on delivery.
(Example: a recent Italy order over โฌ150 was charged 22% VAT even though it was marked as original artwork.)
I use the correct customs code (HS 9703.90 โ Original artwork) and include all documentation to help things go smoothly, but fees are ultimately up to your countryโs customs system.
2. If you order through my Etsy shop:
Etsy collects VAT at checkout and uses the IOSS system, which usually means:
- No extra fees on delivery for orders under โฌ150
- A smoother customs process overall
For orders over โฌ150, Etsyโs IOSS doesnโt apply โ so VAT and fees may still be charged by your local customs office, just like website orders.
If youโd prefer this method, Iโm happy to set up a custom Etsy listing for your commission. Just ask!
Which should I choose?
| You want... | Best Option |
| To avoid delivery fees (under โฌ150) | Order via Etsy |
| A larger/custom piece (over โฌ150) | Order directly via this website |
| A fandom commission or one-off idea | ย Either works โ Iโll help you choose |
Still unsure?
Just send me a message and Iโll help figure out the best option for you!
Can I order if I live in the US?
Yes, Iโm happy to ship to the US!
Hereโs what to expect:
- I currently donโt collect US import duties or tariffs at checkout.
- As of 29 August 2025, the US has removed the $800 exemption on imports, meaning some packages may be subject to tariffs, even smaller ones.
- To make this easier, I use Royal Mailโs new PDDP (Postal Delivery Duties Paid) service, which means I pre-pay the import duties and fees when I ship.
- This way, your package should arrive without extra charges on delivery.
What this means for you:
- The final price you see includes everything โ no surprise customs bills when it arrives.
- Orders may take a little longer at customs, but your package wonโt be held up waiting for you to pay fees.
How long does it take to make a custom piece?
Custom pieces can take anywhere from 1โ8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Iโll give you an estimated timeline when we confirm your commission.
